1. Meekness is not weakness but involves getting off one's high horse and subjecting oneself to God's will. It is about serving as servants, not seeking status. 2. Meekness involves suffering and crucifying one's ego, as Jesus suffered crucifixion for humanity. It requires controlling one's desires and ego. 3. Meekness recognizes human weakness and faces trials, which help believers grow spiritually and turn to God rather than worldly things. It involves enduring hardships like the Israelites crossing the Red Sea.

MEEKNESS—IS LIVING A HOLY LIFE—IT’S NOT ABOUT IMMITATING HOLLYWOOD. MEEKNESS—IS ABOUT HAVING SUBSTANCE—NOT CHASING THE LATEST STYLES. MEEKNESS—ABOUT SERVING OTHERS—IT’S NOT WAITING FOR OTHERS TO SERVE US! MEEKNESS—IS THANKING GOD FOR THE TRIALS WE HAVE….AND FOR THE TRIALS WE DON’T HAVE.

4. WHY? HEBREWS 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

5. 2. MEEKNESS IS PAINFULNESS: IT’S CRUCIFYING “ KING SELF ” JESUS DID NOT SIMPLY DIE ON THE CROSS. HE DIED A CROSS-KIND-OF-DEATH (HEBREWS 2:10 & JOHN 13:16). IT WAS NOT FITTING THAT HE SHOULD DIE OUR DEATH—BUT HE ACCEPTED TO BE CRUCIFIED, ANYHOW. IT WAS NOT FITTING THAT HE SHOULD DIE OUR DEATH—BUT HE SUBJECTED HIMSELF TO BE MADE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS, ANYHOW. JESUS GAVE UP WHAT HE HAD TO GAIN AND HELD UNTO WHAT WE HAD TO LOSE, ANYHOW.

6. WHO CONTROLS OUR SLEEPING GIANT? SELF LAYS DORMANT—BUT IT’S NEVER DEAD. SOMEONE RUBS US THE WRONG WAY, AND OUR SLEEPING GIANT RAISES UGLY HEAD ONCE AGAIN. SELF IS MANKIND’S ACHILLES’ HEEL! HAVEN’T WE ALL BEEN THERE?

JOHN 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

8. MEEKNESS IS LIKE A KETTLE– WHISTLING ITS HIGHEST NOTE AT BOILING POINT! THE ISRAELITES WENT THROUGH THE RED SEA. CHRISTIANS MUST GO THROUGH TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS. N:B: PSALMS CHAPTERS 73-75 MAKES US WONDER…IS IT WORTH IT? WHY IS THE WICKED PROSPERING—WHILST CHRISTIANS ARE SUFFERING?
