Speak Objectives
1. Understand the pathogenesis of Wegener’s granulomatosis.
2. Understand Wegener’s disease and the involvement of kidneys and other organs.
3. Distinguish between ANCA versus non-ANCA systemic vacuities.
4. Treatment option for Wegener’s granulomatosis.
Global Objectives
1. Identify the nature and scope of a wide range of Internal Medicine problems potentially facing adult patients in order to
improve overall healthcare.
2. Utilize the available resources when managing adult.
Statement of Purpose: These Grand Rounds are being held for University of South Alabama and Community Physicians to
increase knowledge, address competence or performance, and improve patient outcomes while conveying updated information on
relating to this topic.
Target Audience: USA Department of Internal Medicine faculty, house and community physicians, students, and other health
care professionals interested in this topic. Signing in for this activity you are giving the CME permission to contact you at a later
date to see what changes you have made to your practice as a result of your participation in this activity.
Professional Practice Gap: The professional practice gap was identified by use of faculty/staff surveys, IOM data, ACGME
competencies, Core Measures, Hospital Infection Control rates and National Patient Safety Goals. The format of this activity will
be lectures with visual aids and handouts.
