MEN OF LOS ANGELES TO STAND IN SILENT PROTEST AGAINST SEX
TRAFFICKING
Hour and 18 Minute Public Demonstration Shows Men Do Care
What: Every month approximately 100 men will stand shoulder to shoulder on a
popular Los Angeles sidewalk in silent protest against sex trafficking.
When: Thursday, May 18, 10 p.m. – 11:18 p.m. (first event, reoccurring every 18th
)
10 p.m.: Meeting to establish group collaboration
10:05 p.m.: Group standing in place on location
11:18 p.m.: Conclusion
Visuals: Men offering their participatory $18, to fund Care 18 projects
Men standing in a line, three feet apart, each holding a burning candle for
an hour and 18 minutes

Sargent Brian Ghallager, head of Human Trafficking Task Force for the
south bureau
Why: Care 18 wished to provide men a chance to solely stand against sex
trafficking. The masculine silent protest will encourage women that not all
men are abusive. The event will collectively raise awareness.
Who: Care 18 leads a collaborative movement to address human trafficking of
minors in Los Angeles with a victim-centered approach, in effort to eradicate
modern day slavery.
