  sample	
  of	
  convenience	
  was	
  selected	
  with	
  200	
  participants	
  within	
  Belize	
  City.	
  To	
  achieve	
  an	
  
equal	
  probability	
  of	
  selection,	
  100	
  respondents	
  were	
  randomly	
  selected	
  from	
  the	
  list	
  of	
  200	
  
participants.	
  The	
  selection	
  process	
  of	
  compiling	
  a	
  list	
  of	
  200	
  was	
  employed	
  by:
1. Selecting	
  2	
  persons	
  from	
  each	
  of	
  the	
  following	
  media	
  houses:	
  Channel	
  5,
Channel	
  7,	
  Love	
  TV,	
  	
  Plus	
  TV	
  and	
  *KREM	
  TV.	
  
2. Selecting	
  persons	
  with	
  senior	
  level	
  position	
  from	
  various	
  established
institutions:	
  BEL,	
  BTL,	
  RFG,	
  	
  Brodies,	
  Save	
  U,	
  5	
  Law	
  Firms,	
  3	
  Accounting	
  @irms,	
  
Belize	
  Bank,	
  FCIB,	
  Scotia	
  Bank,	
  and	
  Heritage	
  Bank.
3. Teachers	
  from	
  SCA,	
  Pallotti	
  HS,	
  Gwen	
  Liz,	
  ACC	
  and	
  SCJ,	
  and	
  5	
  small
business	
  from	
  Belize	
  City.
The	
  study	
  was	
  done	
  using	
  a	
  SPSS	
  (Statistical	
  Package	
  for	
  Social	
  Scientist)	
  software.	
  The	
  model	
  
was	
  a	
  @ive-­‐question	
  survey	
  to	
  establish	
  media	
  perception	
  within	
  the	
  higher	
  learning	
  
population	
  of	
  Belize.	
  A	
  previous	
  poll	
  was	
  done	
  in	
  2012	
  that	
  established	
  the	
  population	
  that	
  
represented	
  a	
  higher	
  learning	
  at	
  8.3%.
The	
  model	
  represents	
  a	
  margin	
  of	
  error	
  of	
  (+	
  -­‐)	
  7%.
* KREM	
  TV	
  newscast	
  was	
  not	
  selected	
  as	
  an	
  option	
  to	
  be	
  on	
  the	
  survey	
  because	
  it	
  has	
  
less	
  than	
  one	
  year	
  of	
  being	
  launched	
  as	
  a	
  newscast.
The following poll was done independently and was mainly created for marketing
purposes.
