Emma McDermott graduated from high school with honors and is double majoring in Government and Middle Eastern Languages and Literatures at Dartmouth. During the summer of 2013, she received funding from the McSpadden Public Affairs Internship Fund to complete a judicial internship at the Supreme Court of the United States in the Office of the Counselor to the Chief Justice. As an intern, her responsibilities included briefing foreign dignitaries visiting the Court, researching issues like how the American system has adapted to growing caseloads, and assisting the Supreme Court Fellow with various projects. Emma found the experience invaluable, as it helped her better define her goals and interests in law.
