1. Training in Mindfulness
Based Somatic Experiencing
Training in Mindfulness
Based Somatic Experiencing
This course brings together the world of Body oriented Psychotherapy, especially the basics
of Somatic Experiencing (SE), EFA, Breath work, DARe and Focusing, together with the
understanding of Contemplative psychology especially Mindfulness, MBSR, and Compassion
practices as frame and tools.
The method elicits the intrinsic healing capacity that all humans share, aiming at successful
creative self regulation. This is a Bottom Up way to treat Trauma and yet one that is well
integrated with Top Bottom insights; A true Mind-Body offer, based in brain, mind, and
attachment research. As trauma robs us of the present moment, we rediscover our core
intactness in the Present, from who we were to all that we are; Self unfolds and infuses.
Training includes both theory and experience, and will be comprised of three modules of
four days each year, full of theory, observations and practice; Includes group supervisions,
personal sessions, peer group meetings, personal mindfulness practice and Journal writing.
The modules will touch upon:
Basic understanding of Trauma from a body/brain perspective, explicit/implicit memory,
trapped energy, Autonomic nervous system, Polyvagal theory, chaos/integration,
containment/discharge, resonance and more.
