Joyce Mazero is a corporate partner and co-chair of the global supply network industry team at Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP. She provides transactional, regulatory, and dispute resolution services related to franchising, licensing, distribution, manufacturing, and other areas. Ms. Mazero represents national and global clients, advising them on major initiatives like mergers and acquisitions. She has extensive experience structuring and negotiating domestic and international commercial relationships. Ms. Mazero also holds leadership positions in several professional associations.

In her counsel to national and global clients in the areas of franchising,
licensing, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, buying groups,
cooperatives and shared services systems, Joyce Mazero provides
transactional, regulatory and dispute resolution services. She is a
corporate partner and co-chair of the Firm’s global supply network
industry team.
Joyce works with product and serviced-based client companies and
leads them through major initiatives. These include financings, mergers
& acquisitions, registration and disclosures, and negotiations of
strategic alliances, joint ventures, and domestic and international
licensing, franchising, manufacturing and logistics deals. Joyce has
been ranked in Band 1 for Franchising Nationwide by Chambers USA
since 2008, and she is recognized by Chambers Global, which
highlighted her "very strong sense of what it takes to drive a business"
and "well-rounded viewpoint on transactions."
Managing risk in supply chain operations and leveraging supply chains
for competitive advantages is a practice focus for Joyce. Her
background includes extensive counsel related to distribution networks,
purchasing cooperatives and buying groups, manufacturers, suppliers,
logistics providers and out-sourced systems. Joyce also advises clients
on structuring, negotiation and legal enforcement of international
commercial relationships. Advising and structuring non-traditional
development deals, such as with airports, military bases and
universities, is an additional area in which she has significant
experience.
Leadership in Corporate, Industry and Civic Groups
Joyce's professional leadership spans key national and international
professional and civic associations. She currently sits on the Advisory
Council of the National Restaurant Association‘s Supply Chain Group
and is on the Board of the College of Merchandising, Hospitality and
Tourism for the University of North Texas. She served as a member of
the boards of the International Franchise Association and its
Educational Foundation; the National Restaurant Association
Educational Foundation and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Advocacy
Alliance. She serves as Chair Emeritus for the Women Corporate
Directors' DFW Chapter, of which she is a founding member.
A frequent national speaker and writer, Joyce was an editorial advisor
to the book Franchising for Dummies. She is the recipient of several
leadership awards from the International Franchise Association, the
Women’s Foodservice Forum and the Dallas Business Journal. Joyce has
been nationally ranked in Band 1 by Chambers USA for Franchise Law;
listed for more than 20 years by The Best Lawyers in America; and has
become a "Legal Eagle" mainstay in the annual listing by Franchise
