The document discusses production and scale-up techniques for suspensions and emulsions. It explains that while a drug product may be successfully developed in a small research laboratory setting, scaling up to large commercial production introduces many challenges. To address this, pharmaceutical companies use pilot plants which allow experimental formulations to be transferred from the laboratory to commercial-scale production. This helps identify and resolve potential problems before full-scale manufacturing. The document then describes various aspects of pilot plant facilities including their functions, organizational structures, staffing needs and training requirements.
Paint is a mixture of pigments, extenders, additives, resins or binders, and solvents. Pigments provide color and hiding power, extenders reduce costs and improve properties like flow, and resins act as the film-forming component that binds the paint together and improves adhesion and durability. Common paint components include titanium dioxide as a pigment, calcium carbonate as an extender, alkyd or acrylic resins as binders, and solvents like water, xylene or methyl ethyl ketone to adjust viscosity. A coating is any material applied to a substrate's surface, and paint provides both decorative and protective coatings.
This document gives a brief description on defoamer chemicals used in industry. Foaming is a problem in processing industry like, food, paper and pulp, paint and coating, printing, dyeing, oil drilling, boiler steam production, water treatment, waste management, etc.
The Paints and Coatings Industry is one of the most heavily regulated industries in the world. The sector consists of manufacturers of paints, varnishes, lacquers, shellacs, stains, and a variety of other specialty coatings.

Binders : Hold the coating together – act like “glue.”
Pigments: Provide color, UV protection and hiding to coatings.
Additives: Give coatings their unique properties.
Resins: Synthetic or vegetable materials that are used as a base for coatings.
Solvents: (water or mineral spirits) allow for the material to be suspended, and once it evaporates from the coating, it allows for the film formation.
Synthetic resins are materials with a property of interest that is similar to natural plant resins: they are viscous liquids that are capable of hardening permanently. Otherwise, chemically they are very different from the various resinous compounds secreted by plants. Synthetic resins comprise a large class of synthetic products that have some of the physical properties of natural resins but are different chemically. Synthetic resins are not clearly differentiated from plastics.

Paint is a surface coating that is made up of several key components:
1) A polymer or resin that forms the film once dried. This can be low or high molecular weight.
2) Pigments that provide color. Primary pigments provide the base color while extenders and fillers modify the color or texture.
3) A solvent to keep the paint in a liquid form before drying. The solvent type depends on the polymer.
4) Additives that improve properties like drying time, texture, stability or prevent defects in the coating. These include metals, anti-skinning agents, and materials that prevent precipitation. The relationship between the coating and the surface it is applied to is important for a quality paint
Pigment is a material that selectively absorbs certain wavelengths of light. Pigments must have high tinting strength, be stable in solid form at ambient temperatures, and not significantly interact with the medium they are dispersed in. There are organic and inorganic pigments; organic pigments tend to have brighter colors, higher color strength, and better chemical fastness than inorganic pigments. Common organic pigment classes include azo pigments, polycyclic pigments, phthalocyanine pigments, and quinacridone pigments. Pigments are used in inks, paints, plastics, rubber, glass, ceramics, textiles, cement, and cosmetics.

Acrylic Emulsion Paints Manufacturing Industry. Setting up a Paint Factory
Emulsion Paint typically consists of pigment, resin, solvent and additives. Emulsion is water based paint. As compared to oil based paint, working with emulsion paint is far better.
Acrylic paint is a fast-drying paint made of pigment suspended in acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic paints are water-soluble, but become water-resistant when dry. Acrylic emulsion paints have now been investigated, largely from a scientific perspective. As a result, we have a better understanding of several important aspects pertaining to the care and appreciation of works of art made with these paints, including typical paint constituents, physical properties and how these may change with age. These new options are based on modifications to aqueous and non-polar solvents, as well as water-in-oil micro emulsions where the continuous ‘oil’ phase is either a mineral spirit or silicone solvent.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
