ow to make an impact on a charity by not
only providing a facility to learn, but also
volunteers who can share their talents.
Mary Kay Philippines dedicated a Learning and
Resource Center as a gift for the residents and staff
of Welcome House of Good Shepherd, a non-profit
charitable institution that is a crisis intervention center
which provides temporary shelter for Filipinas who
have experienced abuse and other forms of violence.
Thanks to the sales generated and donations raised
from the 2010 Beauty that Counts™ Mary Kay®
Crème Lipstick in Inspiration Pink, the Learning
and Resource Center now serves as the center’s
educational facility which includes a mini-library and
computer area.
The Center’s library was inaugurated culminating
with a Christmas Party celebration to the delight of
the residents and guests of the Welcome House.
Fun-filled games, food, entertainment and gift-giving
went on till the end of the program. The residents
prepared dances, a karate exhibition and a song
number to the delight of the guests.
Volunteers of Project: Talent Share shared their
talents and skills to the residents. Mary Kay
Philippines’ staff and employees spent their personal
time at the center and interacted with the women
and children who would benefit from the skills and
livelihood that were shared like accessory and
dessert-making.
