Responsibilities
My job description is quite versitile and requires the need for flexibility. I am responsible for all production (repro) and sales,
which includes Litho printing (consisting of a KOMORI, GTO and 2 SORMZ helderberg offset machines) , silk screen printing,
die cutting and a service bureau (printing of stickers, washcare labels and various other labels). Apart from repro (preparing artwork
for print and die cutting) I have to liase with plate, film and die making suppliers on a daily basis. There is a need for digital printing
which I’m responsible for. When required I prepare artwork and print various jobs on a Xerox docucolour 250 Digital
printing machine. As mentioned above I am also responsible for a sales team (consisting of 7 consultants). On a daily basis supplied
artwork (from customers) needs to be checked or new artwork needs to be created. There is a need for packaging for eg.
sock packaging, various boxes and even cooking pot bands. Die lines are either created from scratch or amended if required.
All samples are cut manually (hand cut). I also work closely with a small programme developing department which requires imaging.
Automation systems are set up at various customers premises locally and overseas, whereby these programmes are used.
All the above responsibilties are managed by myself accordingly. Taking into concideration the needs of the customers, delivery dates
and the production plan.
