Rise of Applied Artificial Intelligence in India
1) India is the fastest growing smartphone market and will have 435 million smartphones by 2019, changing workflows massively. Data is expected to grow 50 times from 2009 to 2020.
2) Applied AI will be needed to make sense of and profit from this large amount of data. The use of applied AI will determine new category leaders.
3) Three major trends are converging in India - a growing digital population, a young and tech-savvy workforce, and supportive government initiatives - making it the perfect time to invest in applied AI startups.

An online survey of 6,740 Indian job seekers found the following:
1) 85% had at least one social media profile, and Facebook had 4 times more users than LinkedIn.
2) 50% more job seekers credited finding their current job through Facebook friends and personal connections rather than professional connections on LinkedIn.
3) While most job seekers updated basic professional information like skills and employment history on Facebook and LinkedIn, higher percentages of LinkedIn users updated this information, particularly skills.
