6. Matthew 19:3,
• Matthew 19:3 Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him
and asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any
reason at all?"
• The Net Bible note is, “The question of the Pharisees was
anything but sincere; they were asking it to test him. Jesus
was now in the jurisdiction of Herod Antipas (i.e., Judea
and beyond the Jordan) and it is likely that the Pharisees
were hoping he might answer the question of divorce in a
way similar to John the Baptist and so suffer the same fate
as John, i.e., death at the hands of Herod (cf. Mat 14:1-12).
Jesus answered the question not on the basis of rabbinic
custom and the debate over Deu 24:1, but rather from the
account of creation and God's original design.”
7. Matthew 19:3, For Any Reason At All
• Matthew 19:3 …"Is it lawful for a man to divorce
his wife for any reason at all?"
• The question of divorce was the basis of a huge
rabbinic debate for a long time.
• Center of the meaning of “indecency in her”;
• Deuteronomy 24:1 "When a man takes a wife and
marries her, and it happens that she finds no
favor in his eyes because he has found some
indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate
of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her
out from his house,
8. Matthew 5:31-32, Divorce
• Matthew 5:31 "It was said, 'WHOEVER SENDS HIS

of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a
writ of divorce…
• Deuteronomy 21:10-14, 22:19, 29, 24:1 1
Corinthians 7:11-20 Mark 10:2-12 Matthew 19:3-12
• Divorce in never called sin in Scripture, Divorce is not
on any of the lists that condemn to hell (1Cor 6:9, Rev
21:8), God provided for it, and God divorced Israel.

10. Mar 10:6, No, ho theos, "God")
• NET Notes (Mar 10:6)
• 12 tc Most MSS have ὁ θεός (ho theos, "God") as the explicit subject of
ἐποίησεν (epoieÒsen, "he made"; A D W Θ Ψ ¦1, 13 Û lat sy), while the
most important witnesses, along with a few others, lack ὁ θεός ( B C L
Δ 579 2427 co). On the one hand, it is possible that the shorter reading is
an assimilation to the wording of the LXX of Gen 1:27b where ὁ θεός is
lacking. However, since it is mentioned at the beginning of the verse (Gen
1:27a) with ἐποίησεν scribes may have been motivated to add it in Mark
to make the subject clear. Further, confusion could easily arise in this
dominical saying, because Moses was the previously mentioned subject
(v. 5) and inattentive readers might regard him as the subject of
ἐποίησεν in v. 6. Thus, both on internal and external grounds, the most
probable wording of the original text here lacked ὁ θεός.

• Mark 10:8 AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH …
• Is often quoted in weddings;

a wedding, and I was the organist. Everything went
smoothly until the end, when he forgot the line, "You

broken by me trying to cue my husband with kissing

14. Mark 10:6, TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT
Population And The Age Of The Earth
• “How long have people been living on the Earth? The evolutionist
says two million years. The Bible-believing Christian says about six
thousand. Who is right?
• Statistically, a couple must have 2.1 children to keep a population at
the same level. In practice, this means a minimum of three children
per family. Let us suppose for a moment that the biblical account of
the Genesis Flood in which just eight people survived is true. Let us
further suppose that each family from this point in history had 2.4
children on average. This very modest number will take into
account all the deaths through infant mortality, plagues and war.
How long would it take to reach today’s world population?
Surprisingly, the answer is just less than five thousand years. This
figure fits nicely into known historical records.
• Now suppose we take the evolutionary view that mankind has been
on this planet for two million years and we begin with two people –
or eight, it will make little difference – and they also had the

Population And The Age Of The Earth
• statistical 2.4 children per family. We will finish up with a number so
impossibly large that the universe itself would not hold them!
Aware of this problem, the textbooks explain it away by speaking of
“population stability throughout this time.” This is nothing short of
an appeal to a miracle! Frankly, the biblical account is far more
believable.

16. WORLD POPULATION, By Dan Payne
• We as people are no different than our ancestors, but the times in which
we live are. It is of no small consequence that the world population is
exploding like a giant volcano. The current world population is approx. 35
times greater than it was at the time of Christ. (Most demographers
estimate that the world population was approx. 200 million during the
time of Christ. Currently, world population is estimated to be 7.2 billion
and rising.)
• .2 billion in A.D. 40
• .3 billion in 1000, (960 years later)
• .5 billion in 1500, (500 years later)
• 1 billion in 1804, (304 years later)
• 2 billion in 1927, (123 years later)
• 3 billion in 1960, (33 years later)
• 4 billion in 1974, (14 years later)
• 5 billion in 1987, (13 years later)
• 6 billion in 1999, (12 years later)
• 7 billion in 2011, (12 years later)
17. WORLD POPULATION, By Dan Payne
• If you were to convert the text above into a “hockey stick” graph,
you would see a line that appears as fairly flat and level near the
bottom of the graph, moving from left to right. The line would
represent the steadiness of world population from the time of
Christ until about the Middle Ages, when you would see the line
start to curve slightly upward. Then around the early 1900s, the line
rockets straight up, like it's on its way to the moon. (Just do an
Internet search for “world population graph.”)
• We can no longer make calculations based on how much untouched
fertile land is available on earth and determine how much each
family of the world could be given to live on. (Example: Take the
total number of square miles of fertile land and how many acres fit
into each square mile on the earth and then divide that by the total
number of people on earth to calculate that each person would
have x amount of land to live on.) The land is not free. The days of
homesteading are long gone.

29. Mark 10:19, TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT,
THE LIGHTER SIDE OF THE BIBLE
• Matthew 23:24 “Ye blind guides, which strain out a gnat, and
swallow a camel!”
• Some Christians give others the idea that Christianity is a dull and
joyless faith, and that God is stern and humorless. But God is the
One Who created humor. For example, did you ever hear of the
Bug Bible? Published in 1551, the Bug Bible got the name when, for
some unexplainable reason, “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror
by night” from Psalm 91:5 was printed as, “Thou shalt not be afraid
of any buggies by night.” Human error was also presumably
responsible for The Wicked Bible, published in 1717. The Wicked
Bible got its name because the word “not” was left out of one of
the Commandments, leaving the Commandment to read, “Thou
shalt commit adultery.” One of the most amusing word plays was
by Jesus Himself and is found in Matthew 23:24. Here Jesus warns
hypocrites about straining at gnats and swallowing camels. In
Aramaic, the language Jesus spoke, the word for gnat is
30. Mark 10:19, TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT,
THE LIGHTER SIDE OF THE BIBLE
• nearly identical to the word for camel. The verbal humor, which is
an excellent way of teaching, produced a simple slogan that was
easy for the common man to remember: “Blind guides, who strain
out a galma, and swallow a gamla!”
• Despite occasional human printing errors, we can be sure that the
Bible is the inerrant Word of God. And despite God’s sincere
earnestness in calling us to Himself, we can also be sure that He
created humor.

39. Mark 10:25, The Eye Of A Needle
• Is Jesus saying that rich people can't go to heaven?
• The word "needle" is not a place, it is not capitalized in the Greek so
it actually means "a sewing needle." That's why the disciples were
astonished. The Jews, rightly believed that if you were good, God
would bless you. So, if you were rich, you were blessed. When Jesus
used this impossible illustration, they remarked, "Then who can be
saved?“ They got it, He’s saying it’s impossible.
• It’s not just difficult, but impossible, for a rich man to be saved. It is
also impossible for anyone else to be saved, apart from God's grace.
Only God can give a new heart, only God can forgive sins.
• The context rules out any interpretation of “the eye of a needle”
meaning “a narrow gate, restricting entrance, and making it very
difficult to get in. Where you had to lay down your burdens, humble
yourself, kneel, and squeeze in.”
• The disciples and Jesus understood this as impossible not difficult,
Mark 10:26 …"who can be saved?" Mark 10:27… “With people it is
impossible…”,
40. Matthew 19:24, Eye Of A Needle
• The Archaeological Study Bible says, “As illustrative as these
theories are, they in fact diminish the force of Jesus' words. The
point is not that salvation is difficult without God but that it is
impossible without him. Jesus contrast of the largest animal
known in Palestine with the smallest of holes created a vivid and
memorable illustration. The fact that modern day gates have
been so named can most likely be attributed to the influence of
this and similar statements within the Talmud and the Koran. In
other words, the term "needle’s eye gate" most likely did not
precede the teaching; rather, the popularity of the term
evidently came about because of the teaching.… Bible readers do
not do well to beware of legendary, pseudo – archaeological
interpretations, which can be quite misleading and even distort
or undermine the true meaning of a Biblical text."

• Pastor Jeremiah Steepek
(pictured upbove)
transformed himself
into a homeless person
and went to the 10,000
member church that he
was to be introduced as
the head pastor at that
morning.
43. Mark 10:25, So Drop Your Predjudices
• He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was
filling with people for service....only 3 people out of the 7-10,000
people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy
food....NO ONE in the church gave him change. He went into the
sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by
the ushers if he would please sit n the back. He greeted people to
be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking
down on him and judging him.
• As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church
announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went
up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to
the congregation........"We would like to introduce to you Pastor
Jeremiah Steepek"....The congregation looked around clapping with
joy and anticipation.....The homeless man sitting in the back stood
up.....and started walking down the aisle.....the clapping stopped
with ALL eyes on him....he walked up the altar and took the
microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a
moment....then he recited
44. Mark 10:25, So Drop Your Predjudices
• “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are
blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared
for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you
gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something
to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes
and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in
prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer
him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty
and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger
and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we
see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the
least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
45. Mark 10:25, So Drop Your Prejudices
• After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told
them all what he had experienced that morning...many began to cry
and many heads were bowed in shame.... he then said....Today I see
a gathering of people......not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has
enough people, but not enough disciples...when will YOU decide to
become disciples? He then dismissed service until next
week.......Being a Christian is more than something you claim. It's
something you live by and share with others.”

• With God all things are possible is another one of the
most abused verses in the entire Bible it goes right
along with God changes not. This does not mean that
God will violate his own will, His own nature, or His
very word. He has said that He will do nothing except

• Exodus 4:20 So Moses took his wife and his sons
and mounted them on a donkey, and returned to
the land of Egypt. Moses also took the staff of
God in his hand.
• Exodus 7:9… 'Take your staff and throw it down
before Pharaoh…
• John 15:16 …whatever you ask of the Father in
My name He may give to you.
• 1 John 5:15 And if we know that He hears us in
whatever we ask, we know that we have the
requests which we have asked from Him.
54. Mark 10:45, A True Servant
• Jesus is our perfect example of a perfect servant!
• Some estimate that one person in five in the first century
was a slave. The reasons included war, poverty, birth, or
capture. So, Jesus’ teaching to "be a servant" would have
gone across the grain of all those wishing to be a ruler, or
first.
• So when Jesus washed their feet in John 13:12-15 and, “…He
said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? 13 "You
call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. 14 "If
I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also
ought to wash one another's feet. 15 "For I gave you an
example that you also should do as I did to you.”
• Jesus chose to become a servant because He loved us so
much. He showed us His love by humbling Himself and
serving others, even to the cross.
55. Let’s read Mark 10:46-52
• Jesus teaches about marriage/divorce, 1-12
• Jesus teaches about children, 13-16
• Jesus teaches about riches, eternal life, 17-31
• Jesus teaches about His crucifixion, 32-34
• Jesus teaches about ambition vs. service, 35-45
• Jesus heals Bartimaeus, 46-52
56. Mark 10:46, Bartimaeus
• Mark 10:46 Then they came to Jericho. And as He was
leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a
blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus,
was sitting by the road.
• 924 Βαρτιμαῖος Bartimaios {bar-tim-ah'-yos}
• Meaning: Bartimaeus = "son of Timaeus" …
• Origin: of Aramaic origin 01247 and 02931…
• 01247 bar (Aramaic) {bar}, Meaning: 1) son
• 02931 tame' {taw-may'}, Meaning: 1) unclean,
impure 1a) ethically and religiously…
• So, the Aramaic root refers to "son of unclean, impure"
• Let’s look at the Greek…
57. Mark 10:46, Bartimaeus
• Mark 10:46 …a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of
Timaeus…
• The Aramaic root refers to "son of unclean, impure"
• The Greek “the son of Timaeus”
• 5090 Τιμαῖος Timaios {tim'-ah-yos}
• Meaning: Timaeus = "unclean" or "highly prized“…
• That’s quite a difference! Because whereas “tame” means
unclean, the Greek =
• <5090> Τιμαῖος Timaios
• Meaning: 'highly prized,' Timaeus, an Isr.
• Origin: prob. from 5091…
• <5091> τιμάω timao, Meaning: to fix the value, to price
• Origin: from 5092… [honor(16), honored(1), honors]
58. Mark 10:46, Bartimaeus
• So, we have poor a blind beggar, unclean,
disrespected, cast out, accursed under the Law,
son named Bartimaeus, = "son of unclean,
impure,” who calls out to Jesus.
• Then he is described in the N.T. Greek as “the son
of Timaeus” or “highly prized” or “son of honor.”
• That’s quite a difference!
• This should remind you of someone else.
• At least your pastor was unclean, separated,
impure, blind, without hope, unable to see Jesus.
Then I heard Him, called out to Him, and by His
grace was healed.
59. Mark 10:49, Take courage, stand up!
• Mark 10:49
And Jesus
stopped and
said, "Call him
here." So they
called the
blind man,
saying to him,
"Take
courage,
stand up! He
is calling for
you."Elephants performing the long mount signal the end of the

61. • QUESTION FOR THE DAY
• Dear Compass,
• In a recent GML you mentioned that the Bible indicates that the world is
about 6000 years old. I'm not positive, but haven't we found dinosaur
bones dating much further back than 6000 years? I'm really perplexed by
the issue of dinosaurs and prehistoric man in general. I've never heard
anyone address this. How do we explain this as Christians?
•
ANSWER:
• Many, if not most, people believe that there is scientific proof that the
world is billions of years old, but it is simply not true. For starters, we
believe the Bible is one hundred percent accurate; therefore, we can trust
what Jesus said over any scientist. And Jesus said the earth started with
two humans, not two rocks that evolved into humans.
• from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. —Mark
10:6 But when faced with purportedly "scientific evidence" that the world
62. Mark 10:25,
• Pastor Jeremiah Steepek (pictured upbove) transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be
introduced as the head pastor at that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for
service....only 3 people out of the 7-10,000 people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy food....NO ONE in the church gave him
change. He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit n the back. He greeted
people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him.
As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited
to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation........"We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek"....The congregation
looked around clapping with joy and anticipation.....The homeless man sitting in the back stood up.....and started walking down the aisle.....the
clapping stopped with ALL eyes on him....he walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a
moment....then he recited
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since
the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and
you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the
righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a
stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning...many began to cry and many
heads were bowed in shame.... he then said....Today I see a gathering of people......not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but
not enough disciples...when will YOU decide to become disciples? He then dismissed service until next week.......Being a Christian is more than
something you claim. It's something you live by and share with others.

• I'm pretty jazzed by our latest "Bible Prophecy Insights" video — Episode 4: Technology Foretold. Its message so clearly reveals that the technological signs of the times, like a bright
flashing neon sign, point out how very soon Jesus Christ is returning.
• What's a "Bible Prophecy Insights" video? It is a video illustration where you get an awesome insight into Bible prophecy — in just one minute! These specially produced, computer
animated videos are designed to be shared all over the Internet, drawing people to the outright amazing promises God has for all of us who are believers. I think of them as fancy fishing
lures sent out to attract people who have never considered Bible prophecy, with the hope that they will be drawn into a deeper study of God's Word on our website at lamblion.com.

• Eight Signs of Technology
• People are always surprised when I tell them that as Bible prophecy foretells future events, it also reveals some interesting circumstances that would require modern technology for
these events to occur. Here are some examples:
• 1) Increase in Knowledge — Daniel 12:4 reads, "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall
increase." These words were spoken to Daniel when he asked for an explanation of some of the end time prophecies that had been given to him. In short, he was told that the prophecies
would not be understood until the time came for them to be fulfilled. We must be living in that time because the rapid pace of modern scientific discovery is enabling us to understand
Daniel's prophecies for the first time.
• 2) Transportation — Again, the context is from Daniel 12:4 concerning the "time of the end."The closer we get to the return of Jesus, the more people will travel faster and farther. Stop
and think of how we traveled just a single century ago. We've traded our horses in for automobiles, speedboats, jets, and rockets.
• 3) Mark of the Beast — Revelation 13:16-17reveals that the Antichrist will control all buying and selling in the Tribulation economy. How does he achieve this? He does so by requiring
his name or number to be put physically on each person's forehead or right hand. What kind of technology could enable such a mark? Likely tattoos with magnetic ink and readers, or
possibly an RFID chip. And most certainly computer networks, e-commerce and the Internet will play a part.
• 4) World Evangelism — Jesus in Matthew 24:14 declared, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will
come."Technology is playing a big part in evangelism today and will continue to do so during the Tribulation. The whole world will even witness the death and resurrection of the Two
Witnesses at the mid-point of the Tribulation. That means mass communications devices such as satellites, cell systems, cameras, television and the Internet.
• 5) Image of the Antichrist — Revelation 13:13-15reveals that an image made in the likeness of the Antichrist will be given the appearance of life and be able to cause "fire to come down
from heaven." We live in the only time when this could be done with modern technology, utilizing pyrotechnics or lasers for the fire and robotics or holograms for the "living" image.
• 6) Population Explosion — Revelation 9:16 and 14:20 contain prophecies that at the end of the Tribulation the decimated world population will still be able to produce a two hundred
million man army that originates from the East and marches to their slaughter at Armageddon. That is possible only because of the exponential population growth of today. And what has
produced that? Medical technology.
• 7) Nuclear Weapons — Nuclear weapons are strongly suggested in horrific descriptions of future calamity such as "their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their
feet"(Zechariah 14:12), "the sky receded like a scroll" (Revelation 6:14-15), and "men will faint from terror... for the heavenly bodies will be shaken" (Luke 21:26). With tens of thousands
of nuclear bombs sitting unused, their time is short until launching. Complex technologies such as heavy metal refinement, nuclear plants, and inter-continental ballistic missiles for
deployment are involved.
• 8) Limits on Technology — The events of the Tribulation also give us an indication of just how far technology can be allowed to go, and it's not that much farther. Take for example the
fact that rare earth metals vital to the construction of today's technologies are quickly running out. Or consider the fact that future events prophesied in the Bible involve all people, but
only people on this earth. That pretty well makes it clear that we will not be colonizing any moons or planets in the near future. Plus, the destruction of infrastructure and power grids
along with solar disruption by the end of the Tribulation may reveal why the soldiers at Armageddon are pictured as using horses and primitive weapons. Man's technology, along with
most of the earth, will have been decimated.
• We live in a time like no other, where dizzying strides in technology make end times scenarios finally a reality. Jesus is coming soon!

66. Revelation 9:16, Population Explosion
• Believers: Prepare to Be Taken, Not to Stay!, By Dan Payne
• WORLD POPULATION
• We as people are no different than our ancestors, but the times in which we live are. It is of no small consequence that the world population is
exploding like a giant volcano.
• The current world population is approx. 35 times greater than it was at the time of Christ. (Most demographers estimate that the world population
was approx. 200 million during the time of Christ. Currently, world population is estimated to be 7.2 billion and rising.)
•
• .2 billion in A.D. 40
• .3 billion in 1000, (960 years later)
• .5 billion in 1500, (500 years later)
• 1 billion in 1804, (304 years later)
• 2 billion in 1927, (123 years later)
• 3 billion in 1960, (33 years later)
• 4 billion in 1974, (14 years later)
• 5 billion in 1987, (13 years later)
• 6 billion in 1999, (12 years later)
• 7 billion in 2011, (12 years later)
•
• If you were to convert the text above into a “hockey stick” graph, you would see a line that appears as fairly flat and level near the bottom of the
graph, moving from left to right. The line would represent the steadiness of world population from the time of Christ until about the Middle Ages,
when you would see the line start to curve slightly upward. Then around the early 1900s, the line rockets straight up, like it's on its way to the moon.
(Just do an Internet search for “world population graph.”)
• We can no longer make calculations based on how much untouched fertile land is available on earth and determine how much each family of the
world could be given to live on. (Example: Take the total number of square miles of fertile land and how many acres fit into each square mile on the
earth and then divide that by the total number of people on earth to calculate that each person would have x amount of land to live on.) The land is
not free. The days of homesteading are long gone.

• Genesis 1:28
• “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it…”
• How long have people been living on the Earth? The evolutionist says two million years. The Bible-believing Christian says about six thousand. Who is
right?
• Statistically, a couple must have 2.1 children to keep a population at the same level. In practice, this means a minimum of three children per family.
Let us suppose for a moment that the biblical account of the Genesis Flood in which just eight people survived is true. Let us further suppose that
each family from this point in history had 2.4 children on average. This very modest number will take into account all the deaths through infant
mortality, plagues and war. How long would it take to reach today’s world population? Surprisingly, the answer is just less than five thousand years.
This figure fits nicely into known historical records.
• Now suppose we take the evolutionary view that mankind has been on this planet for two million years and we begin with two people – or eight, it
will make little difference – and they also had the statistical 2.4 children per family. We will finish up with a number so impossibly large that the
universe itself would not hold them! Aware of this problem, the textbooks explain it away by speaking of “population stability throughout this time.”
This is nothing short of an appeal to a miracle! Frankly, the biblical account is far more believable.
• Prayer:
• Jesus, it was through You that all things, including us, were made. When we withdrew our love from God and cut ourselves off from Him through sin,
You came to our rescue. How can I ever thank You enough? Amen.

• Romans 1:25
• “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”
• In 1866, Professor Ernst Haeckel, a German zoologist and strong supporter of Darwin, published his theory that every developing embryo
recapitulates all the previous evolutionary stages of its species. So the human embryo began as a fish with gills, then became frog-like, and so on until
at the ninth month it wasfully human. The real embryologists of his day investigated Haeckel’s claims and discovered that he had faked some of his
drawings to fit his theory! That should have been the end of Haeckel’s theory then and there.
• Unfortunately, the theory became more important than the facts in the minds of Darwin’s followers, and it has been paraded as prima facie evidence
for evolution in every school biology textbook since 1866! The facts are that this theory was discredited and rejected decades ago by the scientific
community while even the Encyclopedia Britannica wrote the theory off as being of “little significance.”
Only recently, after exposure of this anti-scientific idea by creationists, have some textbooks now stopped using embryology as evidence for
evolution. Nevertheless, it continues to be used as “scientific” justification for abortion, and this, too, needs to be exposed to the light of God’s truth.
• Prayer:
• Father in heaven, it is especially easy even for Your people to fall into inadvertent worship of the creation in place of the Creator in our materialistic
age. Help me to root this sin out of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
• Notes:
• Photo: Haeckel’s discredited embryo illustrations are still in some school textbooks.
69. Scientist Error Dishonesty
• TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT
• HUMAN FEET OF CLAY
• inEvolution's Mistakes
• Listen
• Matthew 5:37
• “But let your communication be, Yea, Yea; Nay, Nay: For whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”
• It is a common perception that scientists are totally objective and impartial in their search for the truth. If a
scientist says so, it must be true! Even among themselves, leaders of their field are jokingly referred to as the
“high priests of science.”
• But many scientists will willingly admit that they are just as fallible and just as prone to bias or even dishonesty as
anyone else. The 19th century scientist – Charles Babbage (a creationist by the way) – did an analytical study of
the problem of fraud in science. He found that there are three basic types. Scientists can and do record
observations that never took place. A second type of fraud is to ignore those observations that don’t fit the
average. A third type is called “cooking” – where only the data that fits the expectations is used and the rest
discarded. Scientists today are under pressure to resort to any of these forms of fraud to continue to obtain
research grants, or maintain status before their peers.
• All this means that scientists are just as human and prone to the same motivations in their work as the rest of us.
Not all scientists are frauds, just as not all car mechanics are dishonest. But science is not some open door to
absolute truth. Nor can it judge the truth of God’s Holy Word.
• Prayer:
• Dear Father, I face many temptations to be “just a little less than honest.” I ask Your help that I may always think
and deal with others honestly, recognizing that You are the only Source of all truth. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
