Professional Experience
o Intel Cooperation, (Chandler, AZ) 2005 – 2016
Senior Software Performance & Application Engineer
A leader of testing, characterization and optimization of big data software stacks (e.g. IBM DB2, SAS Base & High
Performance Analytics, IBM Lotus Domino, and AWS) with automation scripts to maximize their performance on
Intel asset mixes (processors, solid state disks and network adapters). The work provided solid support on product
launch events, software and system tuning recommendations, proof-of-concept deliverables, and forward
guidance for Intel storage, CPU, and networking architectures.
Accelerated transition of major enterprise solutions to Intel CPUs and storage products through workload
analysis and Intel-ISV (Individual Software Vendor) collaborative software tuning
Delivered, each year, leadership performance results co-optimized for Intel and software partner products on
latest generation Linux and Windows clusters. In 2015 alone, delivered 10 technical reports on co-optimization
Managed huge amount testing projects and study cases with various enterprise software stacks in different
combination of environments (Windows / Linux, native / virtual, native / cluster, and etc). Each has delivered
solid and quality results on time to support product launch events, Intel / customer conference presentations,
and product design wins. For example, in the SAS, SATA and RAID storage testing, named Sunrise Lake project
alone, more than thousand tests for 54 different versions of FW and 12 versions of RAID stacks had been
executed in less than 6 months to support the product launch.
Contributed on the release of an Open Source XML Database Benchmark - "Transaction Processing over XML
(TPoX)", on sourceforge (http://tpox.sourceforge.net/)
Developed exceptional creative problem solving and debugging skills through collaboration projects with
different ISVs, such as IBM & SAS to determine causes and solutions for the performance issues of their
applications.
Engineered large scale of testing cases in different stages, such as Smoking Testing, Functional Testing,
Regression Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and Performance Testing, for diversity products with
different new technologies. It enhanced the multitasking skill, fast learning ability, new tool master skill and
more.

Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills through prompt customers / ISVs supporting,
successfully driving collaborations cross team, geo and companies, continued Intern supervising, activate team
player, publishing papers, reports and presentations in conferences, and by-weekly ISVs’ meetings as well as
served as a current president of one local Chinese society group CASPA-AZ and a former president of one Intel
Employee group ACI-AZ.
o University of Delaware, Newark, DE 2003 – 2005
Research Assistant
Performed research in Computer Architecture, Performance analysis and Optimization to developed software and
automation used in the University's Computer Architecture & Parallel System Laboratory (CAPSL).
Within machine architecture and parallelization, the focused area was the IBM Cyclops-64 160-core
architecture and the interconnection network among the cores.
Implemented embedded performance analysis and comparison with emulation systems based XSCALE and
ARM architectures.
Designed and maintained the website for CAPSL.
