Spanish cinema has been used both for entertainment and to document Spanish history and society. Some of the earliest Spanish films from the late 19th century were directed in Madrid and Barcelona. Notable Spanish films include Camino, Fuga de cerebros y Al final del camino, many of which found international success. The Goya Awards are Spain's annual film awards ceremony, honoring achievements in the Spanish film industry.
