Margaret Thatcher was the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, serving from 1979 to 1990. She was born in 1925 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England and studied at Kesteven and Grantham Girls School. She had a career as a barrister, chemist, and consultant before entering politics. She died in 2013 at the age of 87 in London, England.
Friends of Tibet is a people's movement to keep alive the issue of Tibet through direct action. Our activities are aimed at ending China's occupation of Tibet and the suffering of the Tibetan people. Friends of Tibet supports the continued struggle of the Tibetan people for independence.

What can we learn from her success, failure and inspiration? Be inspired and motivated by her story - whether we may have agreed with the outcomes of her political reign or not, Ms Thatcher has applied powerful principles that we can all learn from today.
About our Guest Speaker:
Our Guest Speaker is Michelle Vooght. Michelle started her at Federale Volksbeleggings Beperk, part of the then Interleisure Group and worked for numerous companies in the Group and now has more than 15 years’ experience in Human Resources, covering general HR functions and specializing in the specifics of Strategic Human Resources and Change Management.
Together with this, she has also facilitated and ensured the implementation of ‘employee well-being’ and culture change initiatives within various industries and companies and was, throughout her Career, reponsible for Training related to Changing Behaviour in the Workplace, Industrial Relations, Performance Management Systems and has also developed a Learning and Development Strategies. Michelle holds an IPM Diploma in Human Resources Management and has had her own HR Consulting Company.
Today, Michelle has a holistic approach and is also formally trained in Masters Reiki, Ayruveda and practises Angel Retreats and Readings whilst still writing and conducting formal training programmes for the Corporate Sector.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
