Margaret Bourke-White was a pioneering female photojournalist who broke barriers in her field. She was the first female photographer hired by Fortune magazine and the first female war photographer. Bourke-White used her camera to document social issues like poverty and racism as well as architectural photography and scenes from World War 2, India, South Africa, and Korea.
