The Music Unique to Marching Band is taking the music from the concert hall to the field All the basic skills are called upon to play your instrument well Good equipment, in working order Practicing and knowing the music Music we perform:  Warm-ups The show music “Ray” Stand tunes/cadences/track tunes The Fight song
The Marching Precision Basics The Drill, maneuvers or pictures created on the field Fields, practice and stadium Needed equipment: Tennis shoes Sunscreen Bug spray WATER Dot books/drill charts
The Show Channel One Suite One show all season to learn, perfect and sell Football games (Home and Away) Add more of the show to every game Halftime and pre-game Festival Competitions Judges Band kids Ratings Rankings
The Football Games Pre-game Half-time Stands Play tunes for the team and spirit of the game Play only on defense and scoring Stand rules Dress Sit in sections Only the band Band parents help with water Ready to play  Hazards 3 rd  Quarter break Pizza after the game
The Festivals Preparation to perform Performing and watching other bands Judging Rating and Ranking Poor to Superior with Distinction Music Performance (two judges) Music General Effect Visual Performance Visual General Effect Percussion Performance Auxiliary Performance Seven Judges, 100 possible points Caption Awards Music Performance Visual Performance Percussion Auxiliary Drum Major (sometimes) Regional Festivals NAU Band Day on 10/15 (if we can get an afternoon slot) Peoria Marching Festival at Sunrise Mtn. H.S. on 10/22 Flowing Wells H.S. Marching Festival on 10/29 ABODA State Marching Band Festival on 11/12 Must qualify with an excellent at one of the regional festivals

Your Role TAX CREDIT $400 filing jointly $200 filing individually What is it used for: Instruments Flags Recording equipment (the CD) Guest speakers/clinicians Trips Directly benefits this band and YOUR student Audience Whether they tell you or not, they love when you come and see them perform Booster’s shirts
Your Role Fees $60 Transportation (Mrs. Kathy Holmes) Uniform Parts (Checks to Hayden School Supply) Jacket and pants are provided by school $34 for black marching shoes (use shoes available)* $6.50 for  black  gloves* $5.50 for a flip folder $15 for Band t-shirt* *free depending on car wash pledges $50 school instrument/equipment usage fee (anyone who uses a school instrument of equipment) This fee provides maintenance and repair of school instruments/equipment. Drum line/pit members Colorguard members Wind players who use school instruments Paperwork Band handbook compliance sheet Physical is recommended, but not required.
