2. Recently, members of my team have been
disagreeing on how to handle Kellogg’s. Some
team members feel that the account deserves a
more traditional campaign, devoted to longstanding fans of the product, while others believe
the time has come to reach a new demographic by
incorporating things such as social networking
and celebrity endorsements.
3. Advantages:
Build brand equity.
Help people
remember ads.
Celebrity
endorsements can
improve ad recall.
Make people believe
the product
contributes to
superstar status.
Helps product stand
out.
Disadvantages:
Images change.
Celebrities make
mistakes. And when
they do, they can
affect the brands
they endorse.
People may feel that
the celebrity will
endorse anything to
make a buck.
6. The best solution to this problem would be to
first, talk everything out and listen to everyone’s
ideas; but in the end, there are more advantages
when using celebrity endorsements. For less
risks, using celebrity endorsements that are less
likely to commit mistakes and make the product
look bad.
