Year 11 health students at Nuriootpa High participated in the Red Cross' Save-a-Mate program which teaches first aid for drug and alcohol emergencies and promotes health and well-being. Presenters from the Red Cross spoke on the long and short term effects of alcohol and drugs on the body and demonstrated first aid techniques. The students learned essential health skills and practical first aid application through engaging activities. The program was funded by a grant secured by the school counselor.
