Male breast enlargement, also known as gynecomastia, is becoming more common in young men in Delhi, according to plastic surgeons. Doctors report seeing 8-10 cases of male breast reduction per month, compared to only 3 cases for women. The rise is due to factors like steroid use by gym-goers, obesity, and sedentary lifestyles. Steroids disrupt hormone levels and cause a hormonal imbalance favoring estrogen production, leading to enlarged breasts. Obesity also increases the conversion of androgens to estrogens. Experts warn against steroid use for bodybuilding due to health risks like kidney damage.
