This is the first Makita tool that I have I've had the Dewalt DC385
bought that I do not like. The battery life reciprosaw for several years now and
has been awful. I would not buy this tool it's still working great. I've had no
again. problems with it to speak of other
than replacing the spent 18V XRP
batteries, but then they don't last
forever anyway. On the working end
of it, I like the design of the 4-way
quick release blade clamp and the
pivoting adjustable shoe. They have
both held up to the use and abuse.

This is exactly what I wanted for a Put this saw to work as soon as I got
Christmas gift. Already have batteries for it, There aer several trees on our
drill and impact driver. Works great. property and they need pruning
several times a year. I have been
using a small gas chain saw. The
DeWalt is lighter and just as fast on
limbs up to 6 in. dim. Greatfor use on
a ladder.

Worked as advertised and is a great
I purchased this saw for a remodel, and tree trimming tool. Only wish the
so far I have found it very practical. I battery lasted longer, but it sure beats
used a 10-year old corder Makita saw not having to deal with a cord. I can't
which performs great under difficult believe I didn't have one of these
conditions, but the blad change is a pain. years ago...
With this saw, changing the blade is
extremely easy -- and safe IMO because
you can lock the trigger easily, as well as
engage the blade locking mechanism
very easily.
