- 6. 10 11 Safehouse Managementare happy to announce that Lauren Lo Sung will be joining us in 2016 alongside a whole host of Techno stars, perfect for an artist named by Ibiza Spotlight as a "true rising star of her generation". Lauren is known to entwine Techno styles with groovy breaks and impeccable basslines, making her a perfect addition to the Safehouse family. Lauren started to gain interest on the underground scene with her own club night "LOLiFE" which she hosted at a number of venues across Manchester and Liverpool. This was launched into the spotlight when it was made an official clubbing partner of the well revered ‘The Warehouse Project’ in Manchester, and since then has gone leaps and bounds. It's not just her events that have gained Lauren interest on the scene, its her productions, which has seen her release on a large number of notable labels such as Deep Tech Records, DRAFT, Love Not Money, Pole Position Records and more recently Innocent Music Deep with her excellent Keep The Groove EP. Lauren's performing career has seen her play at numerous major clubs and festivals such as Manchester's famed Parklife Festival, The Warehouse Project, Yousefs prestigious CIRCUS parties, Sankeys Ibiza and Manchester, Dubai's Tamanya Terrace, Croatia's Love System Festival, Outbreak Summer Festival in Switzerland, Malta and finally Amnesia in Milan. Lauren has been given the praise she deserves by the industry, by winning the "Liverpool ECHO DJ of the year 2014" as well as securing high profile residencies with TRMNL in Birmingham, WAXXX in Liverpool and EGG London, who previously gave Lauren her own show on EGG radio, entitled 'The LOLiFE Show'. 2016 is going to be a huge year for Lauren Lo Sung. - 19. www.magxibz.com 36 37 Lenguaje dela Música Oído absoluto u oído perfecto es la capacidad para identificar correctamente el nombre mu- sical o la frecuencia de un sonido dado, o de pro- ducir un sonido específico como «caído del cielo», o sea, sin ninguna referencia a otro sonido objetivo «soporte». Por lo común, la posesión de esta habilidad se con- sidera entre los músicos como un valioso talento. Se cree que entre las ventajas que aporta, ayuda a comenzar a cantar en la nota correcta cuando no hay acompañamiento, ayuda a tocar el instrumento afinadamente, a cantar a primera vista con preci- sión, a escuchar partituras musicales sin necesidad de tocarlas. Pero esta habilidad puede, inclusive, conferir ciertas desventajas a su poseedor, tales como una decreciente habilidad para realizar cier- tas tareas de alturas relativas. El oído absoluto se da con mayor frecuencia entre músicos profesionales con un alto grado de talento musical. Debido a estos rasgos aparentemente paradójicos, el oído absoluto ha captado la atención de los inves- tigadores a lo largo de un siglo. Se han investigado tres temas importantes, en especial la relación en- tre oído absoluto y oído relativo; la interpretación de la génesis del oído absoluto, especialmente si es hereditario y los efectos del entrenamiento y la experiencia sobre el oído absoluto en diferentes edades. Algunos músicos poseen lo que se llama «oído casi absoluto»,esto es algo parecido al oído absoluto, pero para un solo sonido. Algunos oboístas que regularmente tocan el la 440 como modelo para la afinación de la orquesta, y los violinistas que fre- cuentemente tocan dicha nota en la cuerda al aire, pueden recordar auditivamente y cantar esa nota a voluntad; y entonces pueden producir cualquier otra nota aplicando la destreza del oído relativo. Existen tres teorías ambientales diferentes sobre el oído absoluto revisadas por Ward y Burns. La teo- ría del aprendízaje propone que la adquisición del oído absoluto es enteramente producto de un mo- delo apropiado de refuerzos derivados del entorno. La teoría del no aprendízaje (Abraham) se basa en la noción de que la mayoría de las personas poseen una propensión innata para el oído absoluto, pero que la experiencia musical, en realidad, impide que ésta se desarrolle. Rafael Bertrán Language ofMusic Part I PERFECT PITCH Absolute ear or perfect pitch is the ability to co- rrectly identify the musical name or the frequen- cy of a given sound, or a specific sound as “fallen from heaven”, i.e., without any reference to another objec- tive sound. Usually, the possession of this skill is considered amongst musicians as a valuable talent. It is believed that among the advantages is that it assists starting singing in the correct note when no accompaniment, support to play with instruments and to sing at first sight with precision, to listen to sheet music without playing it. But this skill may also have certain disad- vantages to the holder, such as a decreasing ability to perform certain tasks relating to heights. Absolute ear occurs more frequently among professional mu- sicians with a high degree of musical talent. Because of these seemingly paradoxical traits, abso- lute ear has captured the attention of researchers for over a century. They have investigated three impor- tant issues, especially the relationship between abso- lute ear and on-ear; the interpretation of the genesis of the ear, especially if it is hereditary and the effects of training and experience over the absolute ear at different ages. Some musicians have what is called “almost absolute ear”, i.e. something akin to absolute ear, but for a single sound. Some oboists regularly play the 440 as a model for tu- ning the Orchestra, and violinists who often play such a note can remember aurally and sing that note at will; and then they can produce any note by applying relative ear skills. There are three different environmental theories on pitch reviewed by Ward and Burns. And as a London enfant terrible himself, it sim- ply did seem to be the perfect fit, music pumping, lights flashing and pennies beneath our feet as we sat down. Saturday night: the new going out? It's going to a show, Gareth Pugh's show. What did he have in store? A troop of bad gals that hailed from Britain's pleasure piers. Cue faces painted on over stretch masks, eyeshadow of epic proportions, wig hair to match; latex leggings, stiletto killer heels; candy stripes and sequin shorts, these were wild creatures of the night alright and they were inviting you for a dance on the disco dance floor. Lengths were lean for flares and jumpsuits, tailoring rendered in leather, and pennies making for a new take on a standard sequin. All to enjoy a great night. Let's dance. Yeahaa! La idea de mostrarse en el Soho un sábado por la noche era in- toxicante, Pugh elaboró una de sus espectáculos haciendo que el centro de Londres fuese un agujero de conejos, tal era su efecto sobre este que cuando por primera vez se trasladó a Londres era como “El enfant terrible” de la ciudad, simplemente parecía ser el ajuste perfecto, el sonido de la música, las luces intermitentes y monedas de un centavo por debajo de nuestros pies, hizo de este Sábado por la noche algo nuevo, un espectáculo de Gareth Pugh. ¿Qué tenía en la tienda? Una tropa de malas chicas que procedían de los muelles de recreo de Gran Bretaña. Con las caras pintadas en máscaras de estiramiento, sombra de ojos de proporciones épi- cas, pelucas, leggings de látex, tacones de aguja asesinas, rayas y shorts de lentejuelas, estas erán las criaturas salvajes de la noche ellas te estaban invitando a bailar en la pista de baile. Sus longitu- des o largos, eran delgados de bengalas y monos, sastrería prestan en cuero y monedas de un centavo para hacer una nueva toma de una lentejuela estándar. Dicho todo esto, todos a disfrutar de una gran noche. Vamos a bailar! Si, si si...
