It’s Like Magic!
Harry Levy of Lexington was sentenced to two years in prison for fraud in April this
year. He stole $560,000 from a long time customer.
Levy has also been sentenced to two years of probation and was ordered to pay full
restitution. Prosecutors are saying that Levy tried to cover up the fraud by lying to federal
investigators and submitting false record to the grand jury. Levy made 134 charges to the
wealthy customer’s credit card, forcing the victim to sell his house and making the task of
financing a new business very difficult.
The lesson learned here? Be careful where you spend money. Unknowing people can
have their lives destroyed. Thus, when students go elsewhere for the weekend or for a sports trip,
they should take care where they spend money and keep all receipts.
