Korvi Rakshand founded JAAGO Foundation in 2007 to provide education to underprivileged children in Bangladesh. He started with 17 children in a single rented room and has since expanded to 8 schools educating 1400 children. JAAGO also undertakes health, nutrition, and social development projects to improve lives. SUMMARY
This report is an account of my association with Kotak Education Foundation, along with
other students of ITM, for two weeks (from 10th November to 22nd November, 2014). It
chronicles all our activities as a team of volunteer interns for Kotak Education Foundation during
the aforementioned period.
Kotak Education Foundation (KEF), an NGO formed in 2007 by Mr.Uday Kotak ( Vice
Chairman and Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd), Mrs.Pallavi Kotak and
Mr.Shivaji Dam (Former Director , Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd) , caters to the education and
livelihood needs of the underprivileged section of the society.
In the areas of education KEF has partnered with 30 schools catering to underprivileged students.
In the schools, the foundation teaches spoken English to students of class 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th.
The spoken English program is supported by other programs such as Health, Parenting, School
Teacher's and Principal Development and Scholarship.
DOST Annual Report AJ 4-24-15
DOST is a 20-year-old international development organization dedicated to supporting self-directed communities in South and Central Asia. In 2014, DOST strengthened education, economic development, and civic participation programs. Key accomplishments included opening a sixth primary school, completing a fourth micro-hydro power project, and expanding vocational training and women's empowerment programs. Going forward, DOST aims to deepen program sustainability and increase engagement with local and international partners.

- Shanto lives in Lalmati slum with her family of 6. Both of her parents work as day laborers but do not always get work. He works in a food cart to help support his family. He attends and does well at C2C school, which provides him a meal each day and free education.

During this time, the various activities, and duties undertaken by her were as follows: 1. English teaching volunteer under Project Connect at Bal Niketan, Chandigarh (2013- 14). In this capacity, she taught a group of children English along with a co-teacher and also took part in assessing their progress. Make A Difference is a youth driven, non-profit organization working to ensure better outcomes for children in orphanages and street shelters. MAD's vision is that even the most vulnerable children in society are able to realize equitable outcomes. The organization currently reaches out to over 5000 children across 23 cities through a 4500 strong volunteer network.
