This document provides an overview and syllabus for an advanced macroeconomics course at Harvard University. The course will use dynamic optimization tools and models to analyze important macroeconomic policy issues such as growth, fiscal and monetary policy, consumption and investment, and business cycles. It will combine theoretical techniques with real-world applications and current policy debates. The course is divided into five sections covering growth models, overlapping generations models, consumption and investment, business cycles, and fiscal and monetary policy.
