This document summarizes a study on the prevalence of spinal column disorders in patients ages 5 to 18 at a Peruvian hospital from 2006 to 2007. The study found that 33.3% of patients had some type of spinal disorder, with the most common being lordosis (17.8%) and scoliosis (15.5%). Girls had a higher rate of scoliosis (20.6%) than boys (10.5%). Most disorders were mild, though some severe cases required bracing or surgery. In conclusion, spinal disorders were highly prevalent in young patients.
