2. Mar 12:28-31 NKJV Then one of the scribes
came, and having heard them reasoning
together, perceiving that He had answered
them well, asked Him, "Which is the first
commandment of all?" (29) Jesus answered
him, "The first of all the commandments is:
'HEAR, O ISRAEL, THE LORD OUR GOD, THE
LORD IS ONE. (30) AND YOU SHALL LOVE
THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART,
3. Mar 12:28-31 continued WITH ALL YOUR SOUL,
WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR
STRENGTH.' This is the first commandment.
(31) And the second, like it, is this: 'YOU
SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
There is no other commandment greater than
these."
4. Mat 25:34-40 NKJV Then the King will say to
those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed
of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared
for you from the foundation of the world:
(35) for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I
was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a
stranger and you took Me in; (36) I was
naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you
visited Me; I was in prison and you came to
Me.'
5. Mat 25:34-40 continued (37) "Then the
righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when
did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty
and give You drink? (38) When did we see
You a stranger and take You in, or naked and
clothe You? (39) Or when did we see You
sick, or in prison, and come to You?' (40) And
the King will answer and say to them,
'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it
to one of the least of these My brethren, you
did it to Me.'
6. Heart - Empathy
Empathy most often refers to a vicarious
participation in the emotions, ideas, or
opinions of others, the ability to imagine
oneself in the condition or predicament of
another:
Sympathy – a
feeling for
Empathy – a
feeling with
In English, since the early 1900’s:
7. To Empathize with Others
Heb 4:15 NKJV For we do not have a High
Priest who cannot sympathize with our
weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as
we are, yet without sin.
Colossians 3:12 ESV Put on then, as God's
chosen ones, holy and beloved,
compassionate hearts, kindness, humility,
meekness, and patience,
8. To Empathize with Others
1Pe 3:8 NKJV Finally, all of you be of one
mind, having compassion (having fellow-
feeling) for one another; love as brothers, be
tenderhearted, be courteous;
Rom 12:15 NKJV Rejoice with those who
rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
9. Soul - Evangelize
2Co 5:10-11 NKJV For we must all appear
before the judgment seat of Christ, that each
one may receive the things done in the body,
according to what he has done, whether good
or bad. (11) Knowing, therefore, the terror of
the Lord, we persuade [PAI] men…
We must keep on persuading others!!!
10. Mind - Educate
2Ti 2:15-16 NKJV Be diligent to present
yourself approved to God, a worker who does
not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the
word of truth. (16) But shun profane and idle
babblings, for they will increase to more
ungodliness.
11. Mind - Educate
Heb 5:12-14 NKJV For though by this time
you ought to be teachers, you need someone
to teach you again the first principles of the
oracles of God; and you have come to need
milk and not solid food. (13) For everyone
who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the
word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
12. Mind - Educate
Heb 5:12-14 continued (14) But solid food
belongs to those who are of full age, that is,
those who by reason of use have their senses
exercised to discern both good and evil.
13. Strength - Edify
Rom 14:19 NKJV Therefore let us pursue the
things which make for peace and the things
by which one may edify another.
1Th 5:11 NKJV Therefore comfort each other
and edify one another, just as you also are
doing.
14. Strength - Edify
Eph 4:29 NKJV Let no corrupt word proceed
out of your mouth, but what is good for
necessary edification, that it may impart grace
to the hearers.
15. Strength - Edify
Eph 4:15-16 NKJV but, speaking the truth in
love, may grow up in all things into Him who
is the head—Christ— (16) from whom the
whole body, joined and knit together by what
every joint supplies, according to the effective
working by which every part does its share,
causes growth of the body for the edifying of
itself in love.
