The London Eye was built in 2000 to celebrate the new millennium. It is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. The London Eye has 32 air-conditioned capsules, each holding up to 25 people, that rotate around the wheel over half an hour. It offers views of up to 40 km and has become one of London's most popular tourist attractions, seeing over 3.5 million visitors annually.
