After safely rescuing the peach, James and his friends were celebrated as heroes with a ticker-tape parade. They rode in an open limousine followed by the peach and the mayor. James shared the peach with eager children who ate it all. Afterwards, each character found success and employment in New York City related to their talents, such as Centipede working in shoe sales and Glow-worm lighting the Statue of Liberty.

1. Plot (chpters38-39)
After james and his friends were safe, james told every one his story and
they became heros.they were slowly escorted to the city hall,the peach
was then slowly to the ground by one hundred steeplejacks.the mayor
declared that there would be a ticker-tape parade for them,james and his
friends sat in an open limousine,followed by a big truck with the
peach,followed by the mayor’s limousine and all the important
people.then a girl ran towards james and asked him can she have some of
the peach, james told her to help herself and then a whole bunch of kids
came to ask james if they also can have some james said of course.in no
time at all the peach was only left with a big brown stone in the middle.
Everyone of them became rich and successful,Centipede was made the
vice-president-in-charge-of-sales of a high class firm of boots and shoes
manufactures,Earthworm was employed by a company that made face
creams to make commercials on TV,Silkworm and miss spider were both
taught to make nylon thread and setup a factory together making ropes
for tight rope walkers.Glow-worm became the light inside the torch on
the statue of liberty saving the city from having to pay for the light of the
torch.the old green grass hopper became a member of the new york
symphony orchestra and was greatly admired.ladybird,who had been
haunted all her life that he house was on fire,married the head of fire
department.
