By the end of this lesson, pupils are able to:
Introduce light and shadow to students;
shadows form when light travelling to a
source is blocked.

WHAT IS
LIGHT?
1. Can you see your friends/family members clearly ? (Yes)
2. Can you still see your friends/family members clearly as
before ? (No)
3. Why you can't see your friends/family members clearly
anymore ? (Because there is not enough / no light)
 That's right. Light is needed in order for us to see things
clearly.

Can you name some of the light source that you know ?
Torch Fire

1. When we turn the bulb off
or blow off the candle is it still
a light source?

  • #6 Can you name some of the light source that you know ? We have many light sources: torch, bulb, candle,etc. The Sun is also a light source. Students repeat the words after teachers. Answer: 1. (No) Answer 2: (Because when you turn them off, they don't make light anymore Answer 3: No Because even in the evening, you can't see the Sun but the Sun is still shining in the other places of the Earth. The Sun cannot be turned off.
