Li-Fi is a new technology developed by Dr. Harald Hass that uses visible light communication and LED bulbs to transmit data wirelessly. It works by switching LED bulbs on and off at an extremely high speed, allowing them to transmit data much like Wi-Fi transmits data over radio waves. Li-Fi could help overcome spectrum shortages by using the visible light spectrum and has advantages over Wi-Fi like better security since light cannot pass through walls.
