Daniel Stillman completed a summer internship at the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, where he assisted with marketing, communications, and public outreach. According to his supervisor, Daniel excelled at creating engaging digital content, learning new skills quickly, and establishing professional relationships. While given significant responsibility, the breadth of Daniel's assignments made it difficult to take on longer term projects. Overall, Daniel gained valuable experience in writing, web design, and Holocaust education, demonstrating his strong skills and potential for a career in Jewish community service.

II. Intem's areas of strength:

experience. He leamed new programs with ease and his communications with staft visitors,
voluntee$, Survivois, and extemal rclations was professional and comprehensive. ftre is
excellent at following direction and learns new programs and skills with ease.
III. Intem's areas of limitations:
Daniel had a lot of lesponsibility. While he did very well at prioritizing, the fast speed and
breadth of work that he was assigned to made it difficult to include larger, longer term
2. projects in his daily work. Daniel is very good at joumalistic writing, but can improve upon
developing more literary pieces, such as Op-Eds.
IV. Intem's use of supervision:
Daniel worked well with each membel of the maiketing departmenl and asked the
appropdate questions to be sure he was doing the iob as efliciently and correct as possible.
V. Intem's use of other agency resources:
Daniel became an expert in navigating the Museum website, and researching previous
Museum coverage to gain a sense of Museum writing tone foi his proiects.
VI. Commenl on infem s growth over the sunrmer:
Daniel gained confidence and took initiative in gethng necessary work done without needing
to be prcmpted. He was the deparhnent coordinator stand-in during my weeklong vacatioo
and our entire department agreed that he did an excellent iob, as they were able to get the
same work done as if I were still here.
Did the intem develop new skills and knowledge? Which ones?
Daniel now has webmastq and Constant Contact skills. He development rclationships with
new ioumalists and has leamed to craft a message for various niche audimces.
Did s/he gain new insighls into his/her attitudes, behaviors or values?
Which ones?
In attending our numerous events and becoming fully emerged in our exhibitiont Daniel has
a new unde$tanding of the various Museum roles.
Did s/he discover new interests or aptifudes? Which ones?
Daniel seemed to enioy cmJting engaginS messages in the shortest, most succinct way
possible. It is what I like to call the "challenge of Twifter." It was a skill that came in handy
across various platforms.
VII. How well was this placement suited to the student's abilities and interests?
I will miss having Daniel's exha set of eyes on written matedal. He was a gieat proofreader
and suggested more engaging ways to communicate messages. His writing skills are above
par which was pe ect as a maiodty of the intemship consisted of writing. Daniel beautifully
discovered the art of always including a "call to action" - activating people to become more
invested in our mission.
4II. Did the intem make useful contributions? Please describe.
3. While I was on vacatiorL Daniel worked dircctly with our senior management, and was given
high priority prciects with short lead time. I am told by manaSement that he delivered
impeccably under pressure during that time. Because of this, we would love to continue
wo*ing with Daniel in the future.
D(. Assessment of the intem's potential for working in the field of Jewish Community Service:
Based on Daniel's commurdcation skills with our constifuency, he would surely be an asset in
this field.
X. How can the I-SIP staff be more helpful?
