An old violin was being auctioned off for a low starting bid due to its battered appearance. However, when a gray-haired man came forward and played a sweet melody after tightening the strings, bids for the violin rapidly increased from a dollar to thousands of dollars. The touch of the master who played it transformed the violin's worth.

Dear Sir/Madam,
We are writing to you as A Level Media Studies Students from St Pauls Catholic College in regards to
the permission to use some elements of music and lyrics from the song ‘You are my sunshine – Dark
Version’ by Radio Fire – Brandon Love. As part of our A Level Media Studies coursework, we are
required to create and produce a Soap Opera Trailer. We believe that the song itself tells a story as its
usually an upbeat song, however with it being in a dark/dreary style it adds irony to the piece. As well
as creating symbiotic relationships between the lyrics and action taking place on screen. The whole
song will not be used as our trailer can only be 45 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds. My group and I
shall be editing the song with the software: Adobe Premiere CS6. The trailer will be placed on
Wordpress an educational blog which is used so that the examining board can assess our work
interactively.
If there are any problems or further enquiries please do not hesitate to contact our Head of Media
Studies teacher at ncrafts@st-pauls.surrey.sch.uk or contact the school on 01932 786485.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
Yours
Sincerely,
Students
of

Catholic
College.
