Herschel C Campbell has been working as a Security Analysis at the NOVGlobal Security Operational
Centre for approximately two years.
Although I have not met Herschel in person, we have worked closely in our respective roles in managing
major tasks and crises.He is a dedicated, loyal and committedmember of the team and one who Icameto
trust to support me in my role as the Regional Security Manager for Sub Saharan Africa.
During the outbreak of Ebola in Liberia, Herschel was responsible to keep us daily informed of the
developments in the spreading of the disease.Due to his analysis and thorough examinationof the reports,
NOV Corporate Security and Seniormanagementwere able to make critical decisions that allowed NOVto
restricttravel to the country and therefore avoidedexposure to its personnel. His timely and accurate
reporting and analysis of the facts allowed NOVto make objective decisions aboutthe situation, even when
other major organizations in the Oil-and-Gas Industry had not made those decisions as they did not
possess the type of analysis that we were getting from Herschel.
Herschel also supported me greatly in monitoring the piracy activity in the Gulf of Guinea. His accurate and
thorough work enabled me to ensure that NOVpersonnel were not exposed to risk while traveling to off
shore rigs. It allowed me to requestoff shore rig personnelto clarify their anti-piracy measures prior to NOV
personnel being deployed. We are now able to detect which areas are more probable for an attack, than
others.
He also supportedme in several critical events by not only supplying good intelligence,but are able to
timely provide feedback and objectiveadvice in dealing with the crises.
