Let God be your Ruler God Gives More Than We Deserve
The gospel is not a transaction God does not give us what we deserve. God gives more than we deserve. He commands us to Love one another Give, and it shall be given to you, pressed down and shaken together, and running over BTW: This instructs how to give not just that we give Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that my children might be fed. Prove me now, saith the Lord, whether I will not open the gates of heaven with a blessing your barns cannot hold.
Whatever we cannot give away, we do not truly own. When wealth is the ruler, the rich man does not own his possessions—they own him. Theologian Paul Tillich” Whatever claims our ultimate allegiance becomes our ruler.”
There is no sacrifice when choice and obedience are equal. When I choose to be obedient to God’s commandments, when I choose to share what I have been given (not just treasure, but out of ALL that I have, ALL that I am), giving is not a sacrifice.
Whatever we cannot give away, we do not truly own. What would be the most difficult thing in your life to give away? What about the idea that those around us, including our loved ones, really need more of us---- Where we are really present with them, face-to-face, thought-to-thought, heart-to-heart
Change your paradigm What encumbrances, including possessions, hinder your commitment to God and his children, and subtly rule your life? What wonderful experiences might there be if we release those things that stand in way of God’s love, mercy, and grace flowing through us to others?
Have you received the gift? Great choice in accepting it! The gift could not have been received had the choice not been made to accept it. What did you do with it? What will you do with it?
