The Event Scoop

for an event. They work quickly, but ensuring quality. If

I moved to Augusta in 2007 after leaving St. Louis to marry a
gentleman from here. We bought a home together and started
with a bed, and a card table with 4 chairs. With my husband
employed, my job was to furnish our new home. That is when
I walked into Persnickety in June of 2007. With the quality of
items I saw, I expected a possible air of snobbery. However, it
was the total opposite. The woman greeted me with a genuine,
down to earth attitude, and sweetly asked how she could help.
When I told her I had some decorating to do, she asked me,
“Which room?” I told her a whole house and that is when I met
Sue. From the minute we talked, I felt I met my first friend. She
was able to understand my taste exactly and assisted me in how
to put it all together. She never pushed anything on me and she
was honest about possible mistakes I could have made. Boy, was
I glad I listened! When Sue was with another client, Jennifer
was able to step in and coach me to make decisions. This house
quickly became our new home and it was all so tastefully done.
I was able to pick from a large selection of fabrics and furniture.
I came in with a budget and they worked very hard to keep me
in that budget, something I was afraid I could easily exceed.
There were several times I had to question prices for fabrics or
furniture, and Sue never tried to push me to do something I
would have regretted. Instead, she helped me to make decisions
that worked within the costs laid down.
We completed the project in a timely fashion with the last 2
pieces coming together the day before Thanksgiving. His whole
family was coming for the Holiday as well as my son. It was a
lovely Holiday and everyone was so impressed with the job that
was done. I continue to have people come into our home and
comment about how lovely it is and comfortable.
I later called Sue again when we bought a condo on St. Simons
Island. She came down and helped me put it all together. It is
such a beautiful and relaxing place because of the decisions
made. Many people go down to stay there and love the feel of
the place.
I have recommended Persnickety Interiors several times to
friends who have also enjoyed working with her and Jennifer.
They have made me feel welcome any time in their store and
care about what is going on with me – something you don’t
often find with business people.
I continue to recommend people to them as I know whoever
they meet will be treated with tender care.

I first heard of Persnickety Interiors when one of my
closest friend’s mom introduced me to it. She had
been working there for a couple of years and knew
that I would be needing new furniture for my up-
coming move. She insisted I come to Persnickety and
give it a shot. As soon as I walked in, Sue, one of the
owners, helped me navigate my way around the store.
I found the perfect pieces to move into my new home
in Statesboro, Ga. I will always recommend this place

People tend to lean away from interior
design, more than they lean towards it. I
believe it is due to the fact that consumers
automatically assume it is a rip off and over-
priced, leaving them wanting to design their
home all by themselves. However, if you are
like me, you know that job can be pretty
hard all by yourself. There are a lot of little
things along the way, such as specific cloths,
colors, tiles, lights, etc., that go together to
give a room that specific look. Therefore,
Persnickety Interiors is here to help you, not
harm you! They are simply a helping hand
along your journey to your dream home.
Persnickety Interiors has many things to
offer. Not only do they have designing skills,
they are also trained in event planning, as
stated previously. Jennifer D`Zio and Sue
Garland, designers and owners of Persnick-
ety, work well together to create your perfect
evening. From wedding events to a simple,
elegant party at your newly designed home,
they are they to help!

After the initial consultation, we’ll begin developing a design
scheme individually tailored to you and your specifications.
Fabrics and colors are chosen, furniture styles are selected,
and the floor plan is created. Then it’s time for you to see your
design plan! During the presentation, we’ll show you specific
fabrics, colors, furniture, window treatment styles, and more
– everything that’s needed to illustrate the design plan that we
have created for your home. We’ll show you pricing for each
recommended item. And this is a great time to ask questions
and weigh in on the process. If there’s something not quite to
your liking, perhaps a fabric or color scheme, just let us know
– everything can be modified to suit your preferences. An
additional meeting might be necessary to fine-tune the design
proposal, based on your feedback.
