A Chinese AI firm called Shanghai Zhizhen, also known as Xiao, is suing Apple for $1.43 billion in damages over an alleged patent infringement related to Siri. Shanghai Zhizhen claims that Siri uses technology from its own patented chatbot system from 2009. If successful, the lawsuit could result in Apple stopping sales of most iPhones, iPads, and Macs in China. However, Apple maintains that Siri does not contain any features from the Chinese company's patent. The lawsuit is part of an ongoing legal battle between the two companies dating back to shortly after Siri was introduced in 2011.
