Introduction
Nowadays, Triumph Structures Thailand(TST)
is using fluorescence lamps total 700 EA to
support working area, such as, clean room,
engineering office, store and etc.
However, TST is spending a lot of money, not
only, in fluorescent lamp cost but also in
electricity bill.
Current situation
Unit of electricity use per year = Qty of lamp x energy use(36W + loss 2 W) X hour per day x day per year
TST spent total (unit) = 700 x 38 x 24 x 365 = 233,016 KWh/year
TST spent electricity bill = 233,016 x 3.7 = 862,159.20 Baht per year ($25,358 per year)

Option 1 LED lamp 22 W
Unit of electricity use per year = Qty of lamp x energy use(22W + loss 0 W) X hour per day x day per year
TST spend total (unit) = 700 x 22 x 24 x 365 = 134,904 KWh/year
TST spend electricity bill = 134,904 x 3.7 = 499,144.80 Baht per year ($14,680.73 per year)

Investment and Break Even Point
• Cost per lamp (Baht) = 1,300 Baht
• Investment = 1,300 x 700 = 910,000 Baht
• Break Even Point = Investment/Saving cost
= 910,000/363,014.40
= 2.51 Years
Option 2 LED lamp 18 W
Unit of electricity use per year = Qty of lamp x energy use(18W + loss 0 W) X hour per day x day per year
TST spend total (unit) = 700 x 18 x 24 x 365 = 110,376 KWh/year
TST spend electricity bill = 110,376 x 3.7 = 408,391.20 Baht per year ($12,011.51 per year)

• Cost per lamp (Baht) = 1,200 Baht
• Investment = 1,200 x 700 = 840,000 Baht

Option 3 LED lamp 15 W
Unit of electricity use per year = Qty of lamp x energy use(15W + loss 0 W) X hour per day x day per year
TST spend total (unit) = 700 x 15 x 24 x 365 = 91,980 KWh/year
TST spend electricity bill = 91,980 x 3.7 = 340,326 Baht per year ($10,009.59 per year)

Pros and cons of LED Lamp implement
Advantages
- save cost in electricity bill

Disadvantages
- Cost of investment
Concern points
1. Brightness between fluorescent lamp and LED lamp must
be same and pass in customer requirements
2. Long warranty will be our choice
3. Low investment and short in break even point will be our
choice.
4. Brand name or reputable of LED lamp will be our choice.
5. Local supplier and good services after sales will be our
choice.
6. Long life time of LED lamp will be our choice.
7. Short time installation will be our choice.
8. Lamp installation start zone by zone, area by area will be
our choice.
9. Can we sell spare parts of fluorescent lamp?
10. Can we request investment from Thailand Ministry of
Energy for LED lamp implement?
