The document discusses the break and continue statements in programming. The break statement provides an immediate exit from loops like while, for, and do/while as well as switch statements. Control then continues with the statement after the structure. The continue statement causes an immediate jump to the start of the next iteration of a loop like while, for, or do/while, skipping the rest of the statements for the current iteration. Both statements can be used to alter the normal flow execution of loops and switches.
