Women face significant marginalization and inequality globally according to UN statistics. Unemployment rates for women have risen slightly while falling for men. Women dominate informal work without legal protections and are concentrated in the lowest-paying jobs. They earn only two-thirds of what men earn and less than three-quarters for similar work. Women do the vast majority of unpaid domestic work which, coupled with other work, means women effectively work a double day. In agriculture, women grow half the world's food but own little land and have difficulty accessing credit. While providing most health care, women still trail men in education levels and political representation due to barriers.
