Dear Sir,
I am writing to complain about the sinking of the ‘ ‘sinkable
Titanic. If that moment ever comes out of my mind I will count
myself fortunate.
I paid plenty of money for a harmless and enjoyable trip to the
scorching and beautiful America, and that is what I got until
halfway!
I will also never forgive you for killing my exquisite husband; he
bought me the finest dresses, and they also went down. I have
nothing left of him.
To make matters worse we weren’t allowed to take our luggage, which
had very expensive things in it, and now it is at the bottom of the
ocean (what use is that?). I also lost a mountain of jewellery that is
irreplaceable!
Everyone would want to come on your ship now!
I hope you know where I am coming from.
I would also like compensation: my ticket money back, and if not, I
will search for the nearest police station.
Yours Faithfully
Mrs. Margaret Astor
