4. Secuencia #4 Las fracciones
Una fracción representa una o más partes
iguales de la unidad. Una cosa está entera (la
unidad) cuando tiene todas sus partes. Una
fracción se compone de 2 números separados
por una línea horizontal.
El número de abajo nos indica el número de
partes en que se divide la unidad y se llama
DENOMINADOR. El número de arriba nos
indica cuántas partes tomamos; es el
NUMERADOR.

5. Cuando decimos que la fracción tiene como
significado la división de un todo en partes,
queremos decir que dividimos el todo, es decir,
la unidad de referencia en tantas partes como
indica el número escrito abajo (el
denominador) y que elegimos las partes que
indica el número de arriba (numerador).
6. ¿Qué es un tercio?
Cuando compartimos
algo entre tres, es decir,
dividimos algo en tres
partes iguales, cada una
de esas partes es un
tercio.
¿Qué es un cuarto?
Cuando dividimos algo en
cuatro partes iguales y
tomamos una de esas
cuatro partes. Por ejemplo,
una hora se divide en cuatro
cuartos.
¿Qué es un medio?
Cuando cortas algo
por la mitad haces
dos partes iguales,
cada una de ellas es
un medio.
