CONCEPT

like heart; Naga is the heart of Bicol.
GABI LEAF
Mayon Volcano provides a breathtaking
backdrop wherever you are in the province. The

It represents the name of the museum which
means hope.
TWIST
4. WHY LA'OM?
The word "la'om" comes from the Bikol word for hope, and the word "infinity" is frequently used to
represent it. The most recent architectural technical advancement is parametric design, which
determines all feasible designs using algorithmic relations. The facade of the museum was designed
to be twisted to showcase the symbol of infinity. The team uses hope for the Bicolanos to reveal
underrated Bicolano artists as well as famous artists. Furthermore, as mentioned, Bicolanos'
performing arts, visual arts, and literature will be showcased at the Bicol Museum of Fine Arts. Manuel
Conde and Lino Brocka both work in the film industry; Fernando Amorsolo and Larry Alcala both work
in the visual arts; and Ramon Obusan works in dance. Bikol now boasts a number of national artists.
The people congratulated the newest Bikolnon National Artists Nora Aunor, Ricky Lee, Salvacion Lim-
Higgins, and Fides Cuyugan Asensio on behalf of Bicol Mail and the Savage Mind Bookshop, which
selected the articles published in this special edition.
6. SITE DEVELOPMENT
PLAN
The Site Development Plan (SDP) of the
museum highlights the parametricism
of the building's facade. The main
entrance is facing the east side of the
given lot, which also has a view of the
existing park. The facade is tilted
toward the southern part of the lot. The
main exit is facing the southern part of
the lot, where the major road is located.
On the western side of the building,
commercial establishments exist.
Lastly, the Government buildings are
located on the northern part of the lot.

FACILITIES & AMENITIES
12. FIRST FLOOR PLAN
When you walk up the ramp, the first floor is the
main entrance for tourists. It was created with a
time-travel-friendly ramp so that it could make
good use of the museum spaces. However, the
first floor plan will be the last floor you visit in
the museum. The elevator, escalators, and
stairs are available for users to access the
museum. With that being said, users will be
able to meander around the museum
chronologically by going from the second floor
to the first floor.

Bicol's national artists in the disciplines of music, dance, theater, visual arts, literature, film, and broadcast arts, as
well as architecture or related arts.

15. ELEVATIONS
The façade faces east while
overlooking the existing park. The
left side of the façade is facing the
major road, where the main exit is
also located. Moreover, it also
overlooks the existing park on the
southside.
16. SECTIONS
There were 2 sections provided: the cross section and the
longitudinal section. The cross section was cut in the cutting line
of the ramp. However, the cross section and the two longitudinal
sections were cut due to the irregular shape of the building. The
sections are located where the stairs, ramps, elevator, and open
space below are seen.
