Kayaking assessment and you You will need to know: Explain communication signals when shown. Describe features which make up a grade 2 rapid and what white water is harder. How to swim through a rapid. How to scout and paddle a grade 2 rapid. How throw bag rescues work.
In pairs or threes read through your assigned A3 sheet. Come up with 5-7 questions, write them around the outside of the information sheet. Groups to move around each A3 sheet and try to answer the questions in their own books. Review of answers. Kayak round robin  Q’s & A’s

Assessment and you For part of your kayaking assessment you will need to: Explain certain features and their effect on a swimmer and boat Explain what communication signals are used and what they mean. Describe methods to avoid health issues.
Features and Hazards 1: Mix & Match:   Read each  river features description card  and match it to its correct  river feature illustration .
Features and Hazards 2: On the  river pictures  identify and and mark the river features. 3: On the river pictures try and draw a line that you could kayak safely, try and include eddies where you could scout the river.
