Having recently completed a Part 1 Architectural degree, I am currently looking for further opportunities to
develop within all fields of architecture and design. Primarily I am seeking to undertake my Part 1 year out
placement. I take great pride in my ability to bring ideas to life through physical and digital modelling. I
strive to maintain high personal standards and am always keen to experiment with new ideas and
techniques to push myself to the next level.

Office Assistant (Volunteer): Northern Architecture (Sept 2015 – May 2016)
• Compose digital presentations and promotional materials as part of ongoing projects.
• Produce scale models to accompany project exhibitions.
• Assist directors with compiling PowerPoint presentations and excel spreadsheets.
Work Experience (2006)
• Pallion Engineering: Observe processes and assist staff with maintenance routines.
• Sunderland City Council Planning Department: Accompany staff on site visits and assistance with
office tasks.
-Education-
Newcastle University: BA Hons. Architectural Studies (2011 – 2014)
Stage 1:
• Undertook a range of design projects which focused on individual small to medium scale buildings.
• Gained experience of methods of timber, masonry and steel frame construction, loading and the
influences of daylighting through an architectural technology lecture series.
• Primarily utilised a combination of hand drawn visuals and card models with CAD plans and digital
models.
Stage 2:
• Projects centred on the essence of ‘Home’ and started to take into account how buildings interact
with the wider community.
• Conducted research into Micro and Nano architecture to influence compact sustainable design.
• Carried out technical coursework which consisted of SAP calculations to determine energy
efficiency of design projects and assessing access for all and means of escape.
Stage 3:
• Began to refine my presentation standard using digitally rendered plans and models.
• Incorporated technical studies into design projects which improved my understanding of how
structural choices and material or environment requirements influence design decisions.
• Developed projects from a deeper understanding of social context and local culture.
Creative Projects – BA Charrette:
• 1 week group based projects coordinated by external bodies. Focused on developing teamwork
and creative thinking.
• Liaised with smaller groups assigned a specific task within the project.
• Responded to delegated roles throughout, comprising both independent and cooperative tasks.
• Stage 1 project: Craft paper installations representing collaborative experiences of the city of
Newcastle and university life.
• Stage 2 & 3 project: ‘Animate Space’ – Devised and constructed a Rube Goldberg chain reaction
machine incorporating a diverse range of themes and materials.
Newcastle College: FDA Interior Architecture (2009 – 2011)
• Projects focused on redevelopment of both public and residential interior spaces.
• Expanded digital skills through introduction to AutoCAD.
• Produced more professional presentations using Illustrator and InDesign.
• Made more prominent use of conceptual models and materials to explore and develop ideas.
Newcastle College: BTEC National Diploma 3D Design (2007 – 2009)
• Introduction to the basics of design process.
• Covered Interior, Product and Furniture design as well as exploring sculptural installations.
• Introduction to 3D modelling through Sketch up and basic Photoshop skills.
Usworth School: 10 GCSE Grade A – C (2002 – 2007)

• Scale modelling and painting. Using creativity and precision to produce eye catching pieces to a
good and consistent standard.
• Collect and play strategy based table top games. Fostering good communication skills and needing
to adapt to changing situations.
• Regularly attends a local gaming club.
