As a studying parent, it can be tricky to focus on study when your
kids are by your side and are looking for things to do. That’s why
we’ve created this ultimate list of jobs, chores and fun activities to
fill your ‘kid’s study-help jar’!
This will keep your kids busy, and give them a sense of pride in knowing that they are
helping you while you study. All you need to do is find a jar, download, print and cut
out these suggested activities and then put them in the jar. It’s that simple! We’ve left
some blank templates for you to fill out yourself, based on what you know your kids
will enjoy (or the chores
you know need to
be done!).
Next time your child
is bored, encourage
them to pull out a
piece of paper from the
jar… they now have
something to do and
you now have some kid-
free spare time!
At USQ, there are plenty
of studying parents.
Check out Social Hub
(social.usq.edu.au),
to find out how they
balance their study
and family life and be
inspired by their tips
to help you get closer
to achieving your own
study success.
Step 1:
Find a jar and cut out the
label and stick it to the jar.
Step 2:
Cut out the jobs/chores
and add them to the jar.
Step 3:
Add any extra jobs/chores
using the blank template.
