Conceptual Framework, Next Generation Science
Standards, Scientific and Engineering Practices,
Crosscutting Concepts, Major Shifts, Timelines, General

• Day 2- Putting it into Practice:
Teams will be given tasks to adapt to reflect the Next
Generation Science Standards. Teams will be challenged
to change and try an activity in their own classroom
before the next sessions.

• Day 3- Planning for the Future:
Reflect: How did it go in your classroom?
District planning time: What will your plan be? What
is your timeline? What supports will you need?
Does you plan align with another district in your
region? Are there any areas for collaboration?
Prepare: Strengthening science departments,
training materials access, and KST future planning

• At least 1 Train the Trainer Session
• Afterschool meetings/ Online meetings
• Collaboration Sessions (between districts)
• Science classroom visits (KST team members)
• Continued online collaboration through forum
and Drop Box (these lessons will ultimately
populate curriculum crafter and other county
