Nu'alolo Kai is a protected reef area ideal for swimming, snorkeling and lunch where you can see turtles and fish, and was once a Hawaiian fishing village. Snorkel gear and instruction are provided to help visitors, especially beginners, enjoy viewing the reef. Humpback whales are often spotted in Hawaiian waters from December to April, and federal law requires vessels stay 100 yards away. After sunset, scenic views of the descending and setting sun can be observed on the return trip back to harbor.
