Description:
Every packet in its lifetime inside the networkswitch travels through the different phases before it finally
comes out. This is a testing system for testing switch devices through a client server application. Target
switch acts as a client and the test application runs on server. A replica of the switch database is
maintained at the server side. Beforethe test, switchis restarted and the replica DB is initialized withthe
initial configuration of switch. Then randomly configurations are applied on switch and the same is
updated in the replica database. Here configuration means creating VLANs, Creating FDB entry’s, cos,
policing, shared buffer, adding ACL rules, etc. After that a packet is transmitted through switch.Same
packet is sent as an input to the test application, and the output of server and client application is
compared.
