JULIE'S FAMILY LEARNING
PROGRAM PRESENTS
CHANGING LIVES
THROUGH EDUCATION
AND REDIRECTION
Meet the Team
Overview of Julie's
Founded in 1974 and based in Dorchester, Mass., Julie’s
Family Learning Program is a non-profit organization that
educates low-income, at-risk mothers and helps them
become healthy, self-sufficient members of their
community. Not only does Julie’s break the harmful cycle
of drug and welfare dependence for these mothers, but the
nonprofit also has an infant/toddler development and care
center. Julie’s focuses on female-headed families in the
local South Boston community, especially those living in
the D Street Public Housing Project.
Scope of Work
Key audience: New and long-time donors
Services and Deliverables:
Help design materials for Julie’s annual fundraising
event in December,
Template for ad book (generic so it can be
reused), Thank-you notes for each place setting,
Holiday Cards
Help with branding
Create a new tagline
Create a new logo
Create a media list for pre and post event coverage
General Strategy
We restructured Julie's Family Learning Program to enhance the website
and incorporate social media elements that will reach a wider audience.
Our creative approach reinforces Julie's progressive model for life
improvement and simplifies the information for its audience, making it
more appealing.
Creative Strategy
We changed the color scheme of the website/brand to convey a more
welcoming, happy personality. The old color scheme seemed
arbitrary, while the new scheme will create lasting impressions. We
chose the sunflower as the new logo because we wanted to convey a
sense of hope, optimism, and happiness. The butterfly didn't seem to
translate well, whereas the flower hints at a "plant seeds for the
future" vibe.

terms of search engine optimization. Once a month is a good starting point, but if you have
time for more blog posts, that’s even better.
Posts should be between 250500 words.
